If you’re over a certain age, there’s a good possibility you’re not super familiar with Snapchat.
After all, the only reason to use a social media platform is because your friends are there.
If they’re not, there’s no point.
Snapchat isn’t all that widespread among adults over 30, though that’s starting to change.
But for teenagers and people in their early 20s, it’s one of the hottest social media platforms in existence right now. For many companies, Snapchat’s potential as a marketing tool is definitely worth exploring.
Once you’ve made an account, you need to find people to follow.
These kind of fit into two basic categories:
- Regular users interested in your niche, many of whom will follow you back in return.
- Influencers in your niche. These people are basically “micro-celebrities,” with significant klout among their audience. You can often pay them to promote your product, an approach known as “influencer marketing.”
But how do you find these people?
One way is to use a tool called GhostCodes.
You can browse users in 40 distinct categories, and it will show you the most popular accounts.

One of the trickier things about using Snapchat is finding people to follow (and getting people to follow your account).
GhostCodes to the rescue. It’s possibly the easiest way to find influencers and other accounts to follow.
Search for Snapchatters by over 40 categories—from “comedians” to “college life” and from “foodies” to “fitness.” Click on a category and you get a list of the most popular Snapchatters in that category. Except they call them “Ghosties.”
